The summer's most fantastic three-day weekend is upon us. But we're not headed off for beaches and backyard BBQs until we share today's all-American deal, a collection of freebies from the New England Inns & Resorts Association. (Something about late summer just screams lobster rolls, lakes, and lazy afternoons on a porch swing, doesn't it?)
Free nights abound. The Lake Morey Resort in Vermont is offering a free fourth night on all mid-week, all-inclusive stays through the end of October. The Wildflower Inn, also in Vermont, has a Fall Foliage package offering a fourth night free on stays September 6 through October 29. And guests of The Wayside Inn of New Hampshire get a fifth night free with four paid through the end of the year.
Properties are also looking to draw golfers. The Crowne Plaza in Cromwell, Connecticut is offering a free 18-hole round at nearby Lyman Orchards with any two-night stay. And New Hampshire's Inn at Ellis River gives guests a free game when you book at least two nights mid-week, September 21 through October 18. (The property also offers a fourth night free through September 23.)
