Save 40% at the Bahamas' British Colonial Hilton

Renovated top-to-bottom in 2009, the British Colonial HIlton is a steal through the end of September.

Even during the warmer months we love the Bahamas. What's there not to love? This balmy archipelago of some 700 islands has great beaches, great hotels for all kinds of travelers, and  easy-breezy access from the U.S.: Nassau is a mere 30 minute-flight from Miami.

So not only did this deal at a resort on downtown Nassau's only private beach catch our attention, it made us want to pack our bags pronto: From now through the end of September 2010, the British Colonial Hilton in Nassau is offering rooms for almost $100 less than usual—that's up to 40% off.

In celebration of its tenth anniversary, the British Colonial Hilton is offering deep discounts on its already great rates. We test-booked the weekend of June 18 and found that a newly-renovated room with a queen-size bed and views of the leafy garden would cost just $147 per night through the Tenth Anniversary promotion. The regular best available rate for that weekend is $245 (both rates include taxes and fees). That's nearly $100 per night in savings!

With its modest size (288 rooms) and understated, uncluttered decor, the recently renovated British Colonial Hilton is a breath of fresh air in an area besieged by huge, overwhelming resorts. But being in the center of the city, the hotel is just minutes from the famous Straw Market, as well as from Paradise Island and glorious Cable Beach.

How to book: Go online or call 877-GO-HILTON and mention the British Colonial Hilton 10th Anniversary Special or booking code P2.

Dates: Book and travel by September 30, 2010.
