Malliouhana Hotel & Spa overlooks the lovely Meads Bay on Anguilla
Now that the post-holiday blahs have kicked in and snowstorms have lost their novelty, nothing sounds more appealing than running off to an ultra-luxe Caribbean resort for some sun, sand, and a chance to recharge. Which is why I'm tempted to round up a friend or two and head to the Malliouhana Hotel & Spa on the island of Anguilla.
For its twenty-fifth anniversary, the resort is offering a Winter Special for the rest of this month: Book a minimum of five nights in an Ocean View Double Room (the property's second-lowest category room) and you get a second room in the same category for just $25 more per night.
Rooms in this category go for $1,254 per night (including taxes and fees) at this time of year. With this package, two rooms are $1,284 per night, or $642 each -- basically half-price. We know this still requires pretty deep pockets, but if you've got friends or family to travel with who'll take the second room and split the costs, it's a great deal for this Gold List property, with just 55 rooms on 25 acres of lush tropical grounds, a top-rated French restaurant with a 25,000-bottle wine cellar, and a mile and a half of white-sand beach.
