Stay at the Steamboat Grand for 20% off with this offer from Steamboat Ski Resort.
It seems that most North American ski resorts and ski hotels are offering deals to entice skiers and snowboarders onto their slopes this winter. One of the more wide-reaching promotions we've just come across is at Colorado's Steamboat Ski Resort, which is rated a top-ten resort in our 2009 Ski Poll.
Steamboat, a perennial family-favorite mountain, currently has a Champagne Powder Family Package Sale offering up to 20% off lodging, lift tickets, and ski rentals, plus a $100 resort credit, and a $25 American Express Gift card. The discount applies to all Steamboat lodgings, including premium accommodations such as the Steamboat Grand and the ski-in/ski-out Sheraton Steamboat Resort.
We test-booked a three-night stay at the Steamboat Grand in mid-January and three days' lift tickets for two adults. The cost would ordinarily be $1,273—but with this deal, it drops to $1,038, including taxes and service fees—and you get the $100 resort credit and the $25 Amex gift card too.
To get these discounts, a three-night minimum stay and three days' worth of lift tickets is required.
Note: Like many other ski resorts, Steamboat is also offering a separate promotion allowing kids 12 and under to "fly, ski, rent, stay, and eat for free." Sounds like a no-brainer, until you look into the restrictions: One child per paying adult; free dining is at one restaurant on Fridays-Sundays only; free skiing is with purchase of an adult 5-day lift ticket; free renting is with 3 days’ adult rentals; free air is for select days only. Still, if the dates of your trip qualify, that will let you save even more on your family ski trip.
