The Fairmont Southampton, which has its own beach and 18-hole par-3 golf course, is offering rooms this winter for nearly 40% off
Bermuda's pink-sand beaches, temperate climate (it's on the same latitude as North Carolina), family friendliness, and easy access (a three-hour flight from New York City) all helped earned it the top spot for Caribbean and Atlantic Islands on the 2009 Readers' Choice Awards. And now here is a great chance to visit this typically pricey island at a palatable price this winter.
The Fairmont Southampton, on Bermuda's beach-lined south shore, has run a number of flash sales this year, and it has already run two similar $99 deals back in April and July. But a deal is a deal, and we're happy to report there's another $99 for 99 hours sale from today through December 20, 2009.
A three-night minimum stay is required, and the $99 rate applies to the lowest-category Moderate rooms, with other room categories also being offered at higher, though still significantly discounted prices. We test-booked for a three-night stay March 18-21, 2010, and with taxes and fees, the advertised $99 rate comes out to $145.88 per night, double occupancy. But that's still a great rate, considering the cheapest available rate without the promotion comes to $240 per night, double occupancy (all prices include tax and fees)—a nearly 40% savings.
Dates: Book by 11:59PM EST December 20, 2009 for travel from January 1, 2010 through April 30, 2010. Blackout dates include January 25-29; February 25; March 4; April 8, 17-18.
How to book: Go to the hotel's promotion Web site and use the promo code PTZO or call 888-920-7077 and ask for the "$99 for 99 hours" promotion.
