You'll save almost 40% off a stay at the Blackstone Hotel, located in Chicago's South LoopIn April 2010, Chicago's historic Blackstone Hotel will turn 100. Despite its age, Condé Nast Traveler featured the property on the 2009 Hot List for its swank $128 million restoration. Now, to celebrate the hotel's birthday—and its general fabulousness—the Blackstone is offering rooms for around $100 per night from December 20 through the first 100 days of the new year.
From December 20 to April 10, 2010, you can book a standard room for $115 (including taxes) per night. Normally, this room would cost $184, so you're saving around 37%. Other room categories go for similarly discounted rates: You can book a water-view room for $139 instead of $206, and a club room with a water view for $150 instead of $218. We say splurge for the water-view category: The oil painting-like Lake Michigan views are worth the extra 24 bucks. One of our favorite things about the rooms at this hotel, though? In place of the usual tourist bedside reading, you'll find books by local authors.
Dates: December 20 to April 10, 2010. Blackout dates apply. Rates are subject to availability.
How to book: Go to Blackstone's Web site and use code BAR or call 888-236-2427. There is no limit to how many nights in a row you can take advantage of this promotion; as long as it's available, you can book it.
Bonus: During this time, the hotel will serve classic cocktails (think a Singapore Sling or a Flora Dora) at its Jose Garces-helmed restaurant Mercat a la Planxa—all for a celebratory $1 each.
