If you've been considering traveling Down Under, there's no time like the present: Not only has the terrific Qantas business class fare sale that we blogged about last month been extended to January 29, 2010, but Sydney has been voted the best international city by the readers of Condé Nast Traveler for the eighth consecutive year—no doubt for its cultural and dining riches, among other attractions. And now, thanks to an alert from travelzoo.com, you can stay at the award-winning Observatory Hotel for up to 56% less until February 4, 2010.
The Observatory Hotel, part of the Orient-Express brand of luxury hotels and resorts, is conveniently situated near the historic Rocks district and Sydney's harbor. We test-booked a two-night stay January 7-9, 2010, and were able to get a Deluxe King (city view) room for a total of $360 ($398 in Australian dollars). Compare that to the $643 (or $710 Australian dollars) without the promotion—a savings of 56% (all prices include tax).
Dates: Book by January 10, 2010 for stays between January 3-February 4, 2010. There are select dates available in December, for a slightly higher rate.
How to book: Book online and use the promo code PROZOS or call the hotel at 61-2-8248-5220.
Condé Nast Traveler approved: The Observatory Hotel is a Gold List property.
