The Wyndham Rio Mar Beach Resort has two world-class courses, one of which is designed by golf legend Greg Norman

"Can this be?" That was subject line of my email notifying my fellow Dealers about today's discount. Thanks to Travel Ticker, we got word of CheapCaribbean.com's extra $100 off its already-low combined hotel and air packages to Puerto Rico—which comes out to a savings of up to 38%.

Eleven resorts are participating in this promotion, but I chose to test the Wyndham Rio Mar Beach Resort & Spa, which is home to a wonderful stretch of beach, says Features Editor Alison Humes, Condé Nast Traveler's island guru. Two people can fly to San Juan from New York's JFK airport, stay at the Wyndham from January 13-17, 2010 (4 nights), and fly back home for about $1,310 total.

Note: We added $130 roundtrip airport transfers into this price, but we also factored in the extra $100 off you get as part of this deal. When you book all of these components separately, you fork over about $2,117 for two people, so you're saving 38% total. (Departures from other airports are available.)

Participating properties: Wyndham Rio Mar Beach Resort & Spa, San Juan Marriott and Stellaris Casino, Gran Melia Puerto Rico Golf Resort & Villas, Conrad San Juan Condado Plaza, Caribe Hilton San Juan, Holiday Inn San Juan, El Conquistador Resort, San Juan Water & Beach Club Hotel, InterContinental San Juan Resort, Rincón Beach Resort, and La Concha.

Dates: Book by November 18, 2009, for travel from January 13 through February 20, 2010 for the rate quoted above. You can get a discounted rate on other dates (November 8-December 18, 2009; February 13-March 23, 2010) but rates will be slightly more expensive.

How to book: Go to CheapCaribbean.com's current promotion page for Puerto Rico. You must stay for at least 4 nights, and be sure to enter promo code 100PR.
