Fit for a king: A salon at Paris's Hôtel de Crillon
Thirty percent off the kingly room rates at Paris's Hôtel de Crillon, one of the city's famed "palace" hotels, is not a bargain by any means—this is, after all, the hotel in which a white kid-gloved handful of the young society ladies of the world make their debuts each year. Still, a discount is a discount, and if your travel dream has been to spend a few nights at a property of this caliber, now might be the time to make it come true. Leading Hotels of the World is offering 30% off stays through May 31, 2010 at its Paris hotels, which include some of the top hotels in that city, if not in all of Europe.
At the Crillon, you can book three nights in mid-February for 1,590 euros (including taxes and fees), which comes out to around US$2,384 in today's exchange rate. That's 530 euros per night instead of 770, a savings of 31%. Book three nights in late December at the Ritz Paris, another "palace" hotel, and you'll pay 559 euros per night (US$837) instead of the typical 779 euros (US$1,167). Expensive? Yes, but also slightly more affordable than usual. And that 28% off might afford you a single malt at the hotel's famous Hemingway Bar.
Participating hotels: Hôtel de Crillon, Hotel Fouquet's Barrière, Hôtel Lancaster, Hôtel Le Bristol, Hôtel Raphael, and the Ritz Paris.
Dates: The offer is valid now until May 31, 2010. Blackout dates may apply, and rooms are subject to availability.
Book by: You can book online at www.lhw.com/leadingparis, but this isn't the most user-friendly Web site. We advise calling 1-800-745-8883 and speaking to one of the very helpful reservationists.
