Like the first snowflakes of the season, ski deals for this winter are fluttering our way. So far we've seen 55% off in Vermont, 40% off in Wyoming, 25% off in Colorado. The latest might require you to go a little farther—over the Canadian border—but the savings of 61% make it worth going the distance.
Our buddies at Ski.com have our back. They let us know when truly amazing bargains come shushing down the slopes. Despite a very narrow booking window (December 19-23, 2009), the current offering at Delta Whistler Village Suites—in Whistler Blackcomb, British Columbia, site of some of the Winter Olympics next February—made the grade.
Four nights in a two-bedroom condo at the Delta Whistler Village Suites and three-day lift tickets is going for $1,985, or $496 per person based on four-person occupancy. That’s a whopping 61% off the retail total price of $5,133, or $1,283 per person.
Not only is Whistler Blackcomb a favorite ski resort of Condé Nast Traveler readers—it consistently ranks high on our annual Ski Poll. I stayed at the Delta Whistler Village Suites a few years ago, and it was all you'd want in a ski hotel: It's close to the Whistler gondola so whipping up the mountain in the morning is a breeze. And there are plenty of cozy fireplaces in the lobby and lounges, and a large hot tub off the pool, so it's great for après-ski, too.
And in the couple years since I've been there, it's become easier to get around the vast mountain sides: The new Peak 2 Peak gondola now spans the distance between the summits of Whistler and Blackcomb mountains.
Dates: Book by November 15, 2009, for a four-night stay from December 19, 2009 through December 23, 2009.
