Stay longer for less at The Ritz-Carlton Grand Cayman through the Ritz-Carlton's free-night offer at its Caribbean resorts.
We've seen some tantalizing fall and winter deals in the Caribbean come across our desks in the past few weeks. If, like me, you're feeling a bit beach-deprived and are considering jumping on one (or more) of them, here's another tempting offer to tip the scales: The Ritz-Carlton Hotels in St. Thomas,USVI; San Juan, Puerto Rico; Rose Hall, Jamaica; and Cancun, Mexico are offering a Stay Three, Get a Fourth Night Free promotion. In Grand Cayman, you can Stay Four Nights, Get a Fifth Night Free.
Ritz-Carlton has actually been extending a number of "Stay Free" promotions at its hotels (earlier this year we wrote about an added-value fifth-night free package at the Ritz-Carlton Rose Hall Resort in Jamaica on perrinpost.com). This new "Get a Fourth/Fifth Night Free" package is a more straightforward discount off the regular room price, although some of the participating hotels do throw in extras such as free daily breakfast for two (at the Cancun resort) or complimentary Wi-Fi (at the San Juan resort).
Availability and starting rates differ from resort to resort, with some of the greater savings in the first two weeks of December. We test-booked a four-night stay from November 5-9, 2009 at the Ritz-Carlton St. Thomas, and were able to nab a Resort View room for $1,189--that comes to $297 per night compared to the regular $378 per night without the promotion (all prices include taxes and a $55 per-night resort fee. Note that the $55 resort fee is actually applied to the "free" fourth night).
Dates: Book by December 1 for travel now through December 15, 2009.
How to book: If booking via Ritz-Carlton's Web site, use the promotional code "P42." Or call the hotel directly and mention the "Book Four Nights, Pay for Three" promotion for resorts in St. Thomas, Jamaica, San Juan, and Cancun; for Grand Cayman, mention "Book Five Nights, Pay for Four."
Condé Nast Traveler approved: All five resorts above have appeared on the Gold List; the Ritz-Carlton Grand Cayman was on the Hot List in 2006.
