Fall officially started just this week, but we're already seeing deals in a favorite winter destination that start now and last well into 2010—and beyond.
A number of resorts in Los Cabos—the sun-and-golf playground at the tip of Mexico's Baja Peninsula bookended by the towns of San José del Cabo and Cabo San Lucas—are offering promos that discount their rates by as much as 35% or give free nights and resort credits. After the jump, get the scoop on the specific deals that we like best.
But first, a small caveat: With most of these promotional offers, there's a beginning nightly room rate that's slightly higher—by about $50—than the beginning standard rate that you'd be able to score without the promotion. But after free nights and hundreds of dollars in
resort credits, you'll still end up with significant savings on your stay.

(1) Hilton Los Cabos Beach & Golf Resort is a rarity in the area of wave-tossed shores: A hotel with a sandy beach off gentle waters you can swim in. Now you can stay three nights and get a fourth night free, and for every two nights, get $100 in resort credits. Rates vary depending on the length and season of your stay, but from October 1 through December 20, 2009, a four-night stay costs $916 (after taxes and fees), and includes kids' meals and $200 in resort credits.

(3) Longtime Condé Nast Traveler readers may be familiar with Sheraton Hacienda del Mar Golf & Spa Resort—it ranked on the magazine's Gold List of best places to stay in 2004, 2005, and 2006 and ranked in the Top Golf Resorts Poll in 2006. The resort is giving one free night and $200 in food and drink credits for every four-night stay, or two free nights and $300 in food and drink credits for every seven-night stay, and a room upgrade upon check-in if it's available.

(4) Pueblo Bonito Oceanfront Resorts and Spas has four locations in Los Cabos, and is cutting 35% off room rates at all of them. What you pay will vary depending on when you go and how long you stay, but you'll get more than a third off your room. For example, we looked at booking an ocean view double at the Pueblo Bonito Pacifica Holistic Retreat & Spa and got a rate of $239 a night (after fees and taxes) in October, versus the $355 you'd normally pay.
